A Family Oriented Place

Interesting facts, if you are a single male living here, you can't...

1)enter a mall by yourself from 4-11pm (which is the times most shops open anyway).
2)enter the dedicated family section of this particular mall where all the fast food joints are located.
3)cannot rent an all bujang apartment in family dedicated areas.

We were at this particular mall last weekend and were just waiting for the shops to open (they close for about 20mins during all prayer times). We were waiting inside the shopping mall by the entrance door when my husband said to me "tengok tuu, tuu diorang nak bodek guard kasi masuk laa tuu" he said pointing to a few groups of males talking to mall guards outside the entrance.

They only let you in if you're with family members. Husbands, wives and children. So I wondered aloud, what if an uncle wanted to come in with his nephew? or there was an all male cousins outing? or brothers? Kitorang pun tak tau jawapannya.

But even if there are two male adults in your mixed gender family group, they will sometimes question you.

So anyway, when we were there, a male teenager tried to talk his way in. Maybe told the guards that he was searching for his mom or something. So the guard follows him around and when they saw that he was still alone they asked him to leave. But this kid and his friend (I think) kinda refused and argued with the guards.

Then another guard comes and physically forces them to leave. And a tussle kind of followed. Siap sampai terbaring-baring kat atas lantai sumer.

Eventful outing huh?

Drama sungguh nak masuk shopping malls kat sini.

But later that evening, we went to another shopping mall and this time I guess there were no guards on duty (or the rules didn't apply to this mall, who knows) cos we saw a whole lot of groups of males loitering about. I mean sangat, sangat, sangat ramai. Dalam Haagan Dazs tuu penuh dengan orang-orang lelaki makan ice-cream. (Kalau kat KL tuu jarang kan orang-orang bujang lepak-lepak makan expensive ice-cream.) Pening jugak penuh sangat with all those men around.

So kesimpulannya, I guess ada lah the pros and cons to all theirs rules nih.
